Maui bound!

Good morning everyone!  I have a quick post for you today and then I'm headed to Richmond to spend the night at my daughter's place...we leave for Maui on Tuesday morning!  I won't have any projects to share with you this week...but I am going to share some of my FAVORITE quotes with you...so be sure to pop in for TODAY'S THOUGHT!!!

Today's card is a card I will be posting on my facebook page tonight for our team Facebook Hop....be sure and go there and see what everyone else created...and PLEASE...like our pages if you haven't already!

Boy do I fell dumb!  I forgot to add the photo...so here I am...catching up today!
The colors that I chose for my card are Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Hello Honey, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive,Smoky Slate, Basic Black and Whisper White. I stamped the base of the card with Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz ink using the Watercolor Wash stamp set. I used the Hexagon Hive framelit to cut the next layer in Smoky Slate cardstock. I created the flowers with the Petite Petals, the Pansy and the Flower Medallion punches using the Brights Designer Paper pack and Hello Honey cardstock. The centers of the flowers were punched with the 3/4" and 1" circle punches and ran through the Decorative Dots embossing folder using Basic Black cardstock. I added buttons from the Neutrals Designer Buttons adding some Whisper White Bakers Twine and the sentiment is from the Build A Birthday stamp set.

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card. It really is a special touch!

Happy Happenings and Pictogram Punches

Hello!  YIPPEE....it's FRIDAY!  So it's getting closer to our trip to Maui.  We will be celebrating our 26th anniversary while we are there so I had to make a card to take with me to give to my husband!  Now that's thinkin' ahead!!

I just love that sentiment...HAPPILY HITCHED!  It's from the Happy Happenings stamp set.  The I "heart" you is from the Pictogram Punches stamp set.  I also used designer paper from the Everyday Chic paper pack.  I added some Basic Rhinestones, Silver Sequin trim, some linen thread with glimmer paper hearts tied to the ends and an Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy heart on top of the I "heart" you stamped image.  My husband loves my cards and saves them all so I'm sure he'll be thrilled to receive this one.

Now, remember...I won't have any new creations on my blog until I get back from Maui...but I will be sharing some special thoughts with you!  I'm also am participating in another facebook hop on Monday evening, July 27th (I'm pre-scheduling it), so be sure to go to my Scrap Happens Here-Stampin' Up! to follow along and see some really talented paper crafters!!! Click here to go to my facebook page or click on the "Be my friend on facebook" in the upper left corner of my blog.

Thank you again for following along as I have fun creating for you!

Flower Shop

Good Morning friends!  Hoping that you have a great day ahead of you spending time with folks you love!  I'm headed into the office today to sub for my friend so she can spend the day with her daughter and grandchildren. It will be nice to see the patients that I haven't seen in a long time!

Last night, after our BLT's (Wednesdays are our farmers market so I get fresh tomatoes and we have BLT's all summer)...I made my way out to my workshop to create today's card.  It's another INSPIRED card from my Pinterest board "Cards I LOVE!  Finding Inspiration".  When I finished, I realized it's kind of TROPICAL...wonder why that's on my mind?

To make this card I used the colors Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White.  The first mat is 4" X 5 1/4" in Watermelon Wonder with the Whisper White mat in 3 3/4" X 5".  I cut 3/4" strips (I actually used scraps) from three different designer papers, using both sides of the paper.  I used the new Banner Triple punch to make the strips into banners. The flower was stamped with the Flower Shop stamp set.  I stamped off because I wanted it lighter than the designer paper.  I punched it out with the Pansy Punch an cut one more out of cardstock.  I added some Metallic Sequins and Basic Rhinestones....just because I wanted a little bling!

Of course I decorated the inside of the card, but I didn't add a sentiment because I wasn't sure what I wanted to use this card for!  It would make a FUN birthday or thinking of you card, but I'm thinking I might use it to send my son a thank you card for taking us to Maui!

...and here is my inspiration!

Thanks bunches for stopping by!  Have a terrific day!

Watercolor Wash and Gorgeous Grunge

Good Morning!  It's Wednesday!  Yep...I'm here bright and early.  I have a friend who teaches my daughter how to ride and take care of horses...she's out of town so it was our day to feed them and muck their stalls...so we were up BRIGHT AND EARLY!

Today's card is another Pinterest inspired card.  I really enjoy finding cards that I love that are made with other companies stamps...and figuring out how I can make them using Stampin' Up products.  It's just one of the FUN things I get to do!
I made the background of this card with the Watercolor Wash background stamp.  I did it by coloring just the corner of the stamp with my Stampin' Write markers and then stamping it at an angle onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I stamped the top and the bottom with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I chose Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise as my colors.  The butterfly is punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch...in both designer paper and vellum.  The sentiment is from the Build a Birthday stamp set and I stamped it in Memento Black ink.  I had to add some candy dots to finish it off...OF COURSE!

You know I love to decorate the inside of the card.  Just a bit of Gorgeous Grunge in all three colors and a butterfly punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch...again in both designer paper and vellum. I layered the stamped piece of cardstock onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  Oh...and don't forget some bling for the body of both of the butterflies!

Here are a couple of close ups of my butterflies!

WHOOPS...
I almost forgot to share my inspiration card!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by!
I LOVE creating and LOVE sharing what I do with you!  I'll be here tomorrow...so come on back now...ya' hear!!!

Snuggles and Smooches...Ray of Sunshine and more

Good Tuesday night to you all!  FINALLY I am posting!  My husband worked all night because lightening blew up a transformer...so he was home all day! After sleeping a bit...he spent the day with us playing Cribbage and Mexican Train Dominoes!  We had such a great relaxing day!  Needless to say...I did not get to create until late in the day...and I'm even later posting!
It's 10pm...YIKES!

HOPE IT'S WORTH THE WAIT!

If you follow me on Pinterest...you know that I have a board that is an inspiration board. Today's cards inspiration is from that board.

I made this card using the Snuggles and Smooches stamp set along with the Ray of Sunshine stamp set.

The colors I chose are Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Tip Top Taupe and Whisper White...it's a GREAT color combination!

Here is the inside of my card. I added some Candy dots to the front and the inside.  The sentiment is from Sassy Salutations!

I LOVE THIS CARD!!!

Below is my inspiration and the stamp sets that I used!
I hope you are inspired!!!

Swallowtail with Watercolor Wash

Happy Monday to you all!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to do all the things you wanted to do!  My sister-in-law came for a visit and we had fun going to a favorite swimming hole, taking a spin class and enjoying a cup of coffee (or chai for me).  We had a blast playing CORN HOLE and eating homemade banana ice cream!  It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend!

Last Wednesday I shared a card that we made in my July workshops.  Today's card is where that card started...but I couldn't quite get it where I wanted it to be to use in the class.
I used the Watercolor Wash stamp set to make the background using Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz ink and then I stamped the Swallowtail stamp in the upper corner, stamping it off the paper (using Memento Black ink).  That is where I stopped!  I just didn't like it.  This morning...I gave it another look.  I added a sentiment from the Basic Butterflies stamp set and another butterfly that I cut out with the Butterflies thinlit.  Of course I had to adorn it with a little bit of bling so I added some Basic Rhinestones.  There you have it...another simple but beautiful card!

Thanks bunches for stopping by!  I LOVE what I do...and LOVE being able to share it with all of you!  Have a GREAT rest of your day!  See ya tomorrow!!

Garden In Bloom

Happy Friday!  Hope you have had a really great week and now you find time to play and relax this weekend!  I'm headed to a favorite swimming hole, but I wanted to post one last card we made at my July workshops!

For this cute and simple birthday card I used the Garden In Bloom and Petite Pairs stamp sets.  The designer paper is from the 2015-2017 In-Colors stack (Watermelon Wonder) and the Brights stack (Old Olive).

I cut the flower with the Flower Fair framelits and the sentiment circle is with the 1 1/2" circle punch.  I stamped the outline and stem in Old Olive and stamped the inside of the leaves with Old Olive again, but I stamped it off first so it would be a bit lighter.  To finish the card I punched flower using the Itty Bitty flower punch and add a pearl.  Simple, quick, cute and FUN!

Don't forget the inside of your card.  I stamped another stem and used smaller leaves and punched another Itty Bitty flower with a small pearl in the center.  It makes for a really cute inside!

Sprinkles of Life

WHOOPS!!! I totally forgot to blog this morning!  I was busy getting a pedicure and a manicure...lunch with my ten year old...paying bills at my part-time job...YIKES!!!

Hope you are all having a TERRIFIC day!  I have another July workshop card to share with you today! Hope you enjoy it!

I made this card using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  It is on the very last page of the catalog and when it is purchased, SU donates $3.00 to Ronald McDonald House Charities. I LOVE this stamp and will be using on many more projects.  Today's card is a birthday card in Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Whisper White and Crumb Cake. The scoops of ice cream were punched out with the Build a Tree punch and embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder!  Choose any flavor of ice cream for your card...just by using different colors.  FUN...FUN...FUN!

Add a few sprinkles on the inside of the card to finish it off.  One of the sentiments in this set says "Hope your day stacks up to be one good thing after another"....some of my gals added it to the inside....VERY CUTE.  I think I'll make another one and do the same!

That's all I have for you today.

Weekly deals are below...there are some great sales...be sure to check them out!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by!
I hope to inspire you again tomorrow!

Watercolor Wash

Good morning!  Happy Wednesday!  I'm headed down the mountain this morning for my Redding workshop so I thought I'd share a card we will be making!

I am really loving the new background stamps! I made this card with the Watercolor Wash stamp. It is such a great look and oh so easy! I inked the top with Bermuda Bay and the bottom with Pear Pizzazz, added a sentiment from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, tied a ribbon around it and added a butterfly that I made using the Bold Butterfly and the Butterflies framelits.  The bottom layer of the butterfly is Pool Party and the top layer is Basic Black. Finish it off by adding some Basic Pearls (or Basic Rhinestones) and you have a beautiful card...made oh so quickly!

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Build a Birthday!

Good Tuesday morning to my creative friends!  I'm sorry I didn't get a post in yesterday...not even one of my favorite quotes!  AGAIN...I was flying by the seat of my pants!  I had a workshop last night and hadn't even started getting ready for it!  My plan was to spend a couple hours on Saturday and a couple hours on Sunday prepping...BUT...my husband made plans for us both days. We went to friends on Saturday and had a delicious cod dinner and discovered a new game...Mexican Train Dominoes....WE HAD A BLAST! I had never played even regular dominoes.  It was great!  I especially loved it because the adults enjoyed it...and my kids loved it!  I promptly ordered a set when I came home and it should arrive today....gotta love Smile Amazon Prime!!!

Then on Sunday after church we had some friends over for a bbq...but first we went to the shooting range...adults and kids...had tons of fun then came home for a Corn Hole tournament while the tri-tip cooked.  I have to tell you about our DELICIOUS dessert!  My husband made homemade banana ice cream (I was skeptical) and I had the BRILLIANT idea of putting it on top of a brownie with nuts and slices of fresh strawberries...OH MY GOODNESS...it was like a banana split!  I think I'll serve this at my September retreat!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!

So here I am today with a post...

We made this card at last nights workshop using the Build a Birthday stamp set.  The colors I chose are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate, Cucumber Crush and Tempting Turquoise. Isn't it a FUN card?

....and don't forget the inside!  A really cool thing about this stamp set is it's versatility...you can turn the stamps the other direction to make a candle!  FUN!!

Thanks bunches for stopping by my blog!  You keep me creating!

A Week of UPCYCLING - Day Five

Hello to my crafty friends...and HAPPY FRIDAY!  I am headed down the mountain today to do my grocery shopping so I'm up and at it early this morning!  I hope you have a FABULOUS day and find just a bit of time to create!
Today is the last day of my UPCYCLE week!  I hope you have had FUN and found some INSPIRATION!

I have a FUN back to school project I want to share with you today...so let's get started!

I usually buy my baking powder at Costco...in bulk, but for some reason I had this small empty can....and that is what I chose to create today's project!

I used a piece of Schoolhouse designer paper to wrap around the can...and another piece of designer paper to use as the band (alphabet).  I made the apple with the 2" circle punch and the leaves are from the Flower Fair framelits.  I created the pencil using the Washi Label punch, the 1"square punch and the tree punch.  I added some Burlap Ribbon that I unraveled to finish it off!  I LOVE IT!!!

Here's a close up!  Could it be any cuter?  I used it for pencils, but if you had a bigger can...say a Girl Scouts nut can...you could do the same theme and feel it with yummy goodies for your teacher.  This was a really simple project to make...I know my 10 year old daughter would be able to make it.

Well...that's it!  I hope you have had as much FUN following along as I have CREATING!

Thanks bunches for stopping in each day to see what I've been up too!  Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND...STAY SAFE!!

A Week of UPCYCLING - Day Four

Good morning friends!  What a beautiful, rainy, cool day we are having this Thursday morning!  Yesterday we had quite a storm!!! Lots of ...THUNDER...LIGHTNING...and a HUGE DOWNPOUR!  It was FUN and a WELCOME RELIEF form the heat!  I was really grateful that it wasn't dry lightening...as those storms most certainly bring fires.  For now...I am thoroughly enjoying the cooler weather!

Today is day four of my week of UPCYCLING!  I hope you are having fun as you follow along!

Do you shop at Costco? Do you buy their canned chicken breast?  Well...I do and today that is what I will be UPCYCLING!  I originally thought...oh...I can make a cute basket out of that...

BUT... I do a lot of baskets...goody holders...and I really wanted to do something different!

Here it is as a container!  It's really cute...I was going to punch holes in the side and add a wire handle with some ribbon...

INSTEAD... I turned it over and made something else!

...a candle holder...and...I just LOVE it!

The paper is from the Farmers Market designer pack.  The flower is made using Hello Honey cardstock and the Spiral Flower Originals Die. I made the leaves with the Flower Fair framelit out of Old Olive cardstock...I scored them on my Simply Scored board.  I punched the center of the flower with the 1 1/4" circle punch and ran it through the Decorative Dots embossing folder.

I grabbed a candle from a previous post to use as an example because I really wanted to get this posted today...and enjoy the rain...and my kids...and my husband (who is home because he worked all night restoring power from the lightening storm).  I thought this one matched pretty well...so here it is.  Of course I could have made it totally matchy...but just a plain, simple candle would work....or a rustic candle...your imagination is the limit!

THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by!  I'll see ya again tomorrow!  Have a BLESSED day!

A Week of UPCYCLING - Day Three

Hello my crafty friends!  Hoping all is well with you and yours!  I sure can't seem to get going this morning!  I rose early and went to spin, but I came home and it was raining and cool...so I slipped back into bed to read!  NOW it is 2:00 in the afternoon (I did stop reading to make breakfast and lunch for the kids!)

Today is Day Three of my UPCYCLING week and FINALLY I am posting!  So sorry to those of you who check things out early!

For today's project I am using a Crystal Light container.  I have used these before at my Scrapbooking retreats...they are such a nice size that you can really fit bunches of goodies in them!  For my retreats I fill them with candy, ribbon, embellishments...so many FUN things you can use!

For today's project I'm going to fill it with Watermelon Jolly Ranchers...bet you can't guess why!!!

...here's my finished project.  I LOVE this one!  I used Watermelon Wonder designer paper from the In-Color 2015-2017 paper pack and Old Olive from the Brights designer paper pack.  I also used White Jute Ribbon and Whisper White Seam Binding.  The seeds were punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Heart punch

The sentiment is from the Stake Your Claim stamp set and cut with the Handpicked framelits.

SUPER CUTE...SUPER EASY...SUPER SUMMERY!
