Wonderland

Welcome everyone!  It's a beautiful day today! It rained all night up here in Weaverville and some this morning (I am so grateful)...but now the sun is out and it's just wonderful!  I was going to go shopping with some girlfriends this morning...but then I remembered I had the vet coming out (yes...our vet does house calls) to give our yellow lab Millie her vaccinations!  I'm so glad I did...I thought she only needed her rabies, but she also needed her three year parvo, distemper...etc.  I wish I had both dogs on the same schedule...it sure would help me stay organized.  We have Millie and we have our son's dog (you know how that goes...they move out and their dog stays...hahaha).  He's a BEAUTIFUL Red Bone hound dog named Dutch.  My son fell in love with Red Bones when he read Where the Red Fern Grows (and watched the movie).

ANYWAY....enough about that!  I HAVE A CARD TO SHARE!

I'm part of a team swap and I signed up to use the Wonderland stamp set. Today I wanted to share what I created!  I cut three pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock 1" X 5"...laid them side by side and stamped my tree image twice.  I sponged the sky in Pool Party ink and mounted them on
1 1/8" X 5 1/8" Mossy Meadow cardstock. Then I attached them to my Crumb Cake card base with dimensionals!  To finish it off I added a piece of 1/8" Striped Ribbon (I totally missed this ribbon in the new Holiday Catalog...and had a hard time finding it today...it's on page 32 you get two 5 yard spools...red and green for $8.00...just in case you can't find it either!)  I added a Home for Christmas button with a piece of Burlap twine I cut from my Burlap Ribbon.

For the inside of the card I kept it VERY simple...just stamping the trees in the right corner and sponging some Pool Party ink for sky! That way you have PLENTY of room to write a special Christmas wish to those you care about!

Thank you so much for following my blog!  I do hope you find inspiration here!  I hope you know how much I love creating and sharing what I create!  Have a FANTABULOUS day!

Home for Christmss

Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a fantastic week!  I didn't get any creating done at all this weekend!  I'm having withdrawals!  I did help my husband build our horse corrals with the panels we got in Lincoln on Friday...so it was a productive weekend...and we did create...just not my kind of creating!

I have one last card that we made at my October workshops to share with you! (now it's time to get ready for November's classes).  It's a lovely Christmas card!

The colors I chose for this card are Soft Suede, Real Red, Very Vanilla and Mossy Meadow.  The designer paper is from the Home for Christmas paper pack.  I cut a 3 3/4" X 5" piece of Very Vanilla cut a circle in it with my Circle Framelits. You could also use your
2 1/2" Circle punch.  I wanted mine just a bit bigger!  I used the circle that was cut out on last weeks card with the cardinal on it.  After cutting the circle out I ran it through my Big Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder. I cut a piece of designer paper 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" to put underneath the circle, attaching directly to the piece of 4" X 5 1/4" Real Red cardstock.  I then attached the embossed piece of Very Vanilla with dimensionals.  The tree was cut with the Perfect Pines framelit out of the same piece of designer paper...one side is the music...the other side is the greenery! I tied a piece of 1/4" Real Red Cotton Ribbon on the side and added Winter Wonderland embellishment to the top of the tree.  Simple...but kind of elegant!
For the inside of the card I added a Merry Christmas sentiment (sorry, I forgot to take a photo!)

I hope you find time to create today!  I'm sure gonna try!  It's a tough day for me...it was two years ago today that my dad died and it's my daughters 19th birthday and I won't get to have a family birthday dinner....CREATING will calm my spirit!

FRUSTRATING!!!  Today...I'm headed down the mountain AGAIN...to Lincoln...to buy panels for my daughters FREE (lol) horse!  SO I HAVE NOTHING FOR YA!!!!

ENJOY your weekend!!!

Good to the Last Bite Halloween Treat

Good morning everyone!  I hope your morning is going smoothly!  I hate those chaotic mornings when NOTHING seems to go right...but I try to keep my chin up!  Today, I'm headed down the mountain to my Redding workshop.  I can't wait to see how long the wait in road construction is....HOPEFULLY VERY SHORT!

I have a cute little Halloween treat box to share with you!  I'm going to put them at each ladies seat and maybe a few in my booth!

I used Happy Haunting designer paper to make each box.  These are only three of the designs. There twelve different patterns in the paper pack and all are VERY CUTE!

To begin cut a piece of 2" X 8" designer paper or cardstock.  Score in the landscape position at 3/4", 2 1/4", 3" and 4 1/2".  Fold on all score lines. I punched a hole in the middle of the second from the bottom rectangle using my Large Oval punch...a circle punch would work too!  After I punched the oval I adhered the box together and punched the top using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  The sentiment is from the Merry Everything stamp set.  I stamped it in Memento Black ink and punched it out with the Note Tag punch.  I added a piece of candy (a cute Reese's peanut butter pumpkin) and attached the tag with Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Cotton Ribbon.  CUTE...QUICK and EASY!!

That's all I have for you today!  I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for another burst of inspiration! Thank bunches for stopping by!  Have a BEAUTIFUL and BLESSED day!

Cup of Cheer and Bo-keh Technique

Hello friends! I hope life is treating you well today! It sure is crazy busy...but I seem to thrive on being busy!  I went in to work today to pay bills and do payroll...then I came home and played in my workshop with a dear girlfriend! We were even able to go out to lunch to celebrate her birthday, which is tomorrow!  I wish I could go to lunch with ALL of my girlfriends to celebrate their special day!

Anyway...I have a card that I made after she left.  I sent my weekly email out today with the weekly deals and a "Make-It-Monday" showing the Bo-keh technique.  I mentioned that I thought it would make a BEAUTIFUL Christmas card...so I made one!

The first thing I did when making this card was sponge Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  After gathering up my 1/2", 3/4" and 1" circle punches and punching templates I sponged the different size circles in Whisper White craft ink. Be sure to overlap the circles and make some whiter by adding more ink.  The sentiment I used is from the Cup of Cheer stamp set and I made the Poinsettia using the Festive Flower Builder punch.  I used some threads from the White Jute and a Metal Rimmed Pearl to finish it off.  I LOVE how it turned out.  Oh...I almost forgot....I used the Curvy Corner Trio punch on the corners of a 3 X 3 piece of Whisper White cardstock (that I stamped the sentiment on), and I layered it onto a piece of 3 1/8" X 3 1/8" Cherry Cobbler piece of cardstock.  That's it! SIMPLE...yet ELEGANT!  You HAVE to give it a try!  If you missed the directions...just let me know and I will email them!  For future weekly projects subscribe to my mailing list (on the right).

Well...the kids are coming home from school and we have to go to the gym for a workout!  I'll be back in the morning so be sure to check back!  Thanks for stopping by today...ENJOY the rest of your day!

Joyful Season

Hello!  How's your Monday going?  I hope you had a FABULOUS weekend and finished ALL of those projects you started...hahaha!  We had a pretty exciting weekend!  My oldest daughter is now ENGAGED to a TERRIFIC guy! My husband and I are THRILLED....and I can't wait to hear what her plans are and how I get to help!

Today I have a card that we are making in my monthly workshops!  It's a very FESTIVE Christmas card!

The base of this card is Very Vanilla. The first layer is a piece of 4" X 5 1/4" Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The next layer is a piece of 3 3/4" X 5" Season of Cheer designer paper.  I stamped the red robin and the sentiment with the Joyful Season stamp set.  After stamping the bird, I sponged the sky around him with Pool Party ink. Behind the sentiment I added a piece of 5/8" striped Mossy Meadow ribbon.

I stamped the inside of the card using the same stamp set.  I did find that it was easier to add the berries with a marker as my ink pad was too juicy and I was getting ink where I didn't want it!  I love the weathered look of the JOYFUL...it gives is a traditional, rustic feel!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see what I've been up to!  Have a WONDERFUL WEEK!  See ya tomorrow!

More Christmas Tags

Good Morning friends!  It's Friday!!! Do you have FUN plans for the weekend? I'm headed down the mountain this morning to do my grocery shopping!  We haven't gone in almost a month.  I read a post on facebook last night that said "I'm at the what can I make with a cake mix and green beans stage of needing groceries"...I had to laugh because that's me!

I do want to share some more Christmas tags with you today!  Tags are quick, simple and FUN to add to packages!  Your friends and family will LOVE them! Take time to make it special!

My first tag is made with Crumb Cake cardstock. I stamped the tree image from the Wonderland stamp set in Mossy Meadow and inked all of the edges.  I used my Perfect Pines framelits to cut a tree from Home For Christmas designer paper.  I added Metal Rimmed Pearl to the top of the tree and some Real Red Pom Pom trim tied with a piece of White 1/4" Cotton Ribbon to the top of the tag that I punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.

For the snowman tag I used Night of Navy cardstock.  The snowman is cut using the Snow Friends Framelits and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. The top hat is cut using the same framelits and the Black Glimmer Paper. The scarf is cut again with the same Snow Friends framelits using Merry Moments Designer series paper.  Before attaching the snowman, I ran the tag through my Big Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder.  I then put a dot of Dazzling Details on each snowflake to add a little more sparkle.  I tied a 1/4" White Cotton bow to the top of the tag (that I had punched with the Ornate Tag Topper punch) to finish it off.  I can't wait to make more tags...and I will be sure to share, but next week I have something else planned!  Be sure to come back to see what's up!

Thanks for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!

Another Christmas Tag....

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!! It's Thursday...I'm heading in to work for a few hours this morning to pay bills!  Hopefully I'll get out to my workshop when I get home.  I did play a bit at 4:00 am this morning because I wanted to make this really pretty package decoration I had seen in one of my groups!

First I have another tag for you!

Isn't this beautiful?!  I hadn't played with my Sleigh Ride edgelits yet so I decided to this morning! I also used the Softly Falling embossing folder, some Basic Rhinestones and a piece of Whisper White Seam Binding. I LOVE how it turned out! SIMPLE yet oh so pretty!

Next I have another project I just HAD to try!

I saw this beautiful creation in a facebook group I am in.  It is made by Samantha Ramey.  I LOVED it and wanted to try it so badly that I got up early this morning to create my own!

I made two of them...both a little different!  Here they are!

To make these you simply cut ornaments out of Red Foil Sheets using the Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies.  For this one I cut five ornaments...I wanted it to look like a Poinsettia!  For the center I used a one inch circle punched in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, a small flower of Silver Foil Sheets and a Antique Brad.  GORGEOUS!
For my second project I cut eight ornaments out of the Red Foil Sheets.  The center is a 3/4" circled punched in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  I also added some curled strips of the same glimmer paper! I used a hot glue gun to adhere all of the pieces.
I can't wait to play some more...with the silver and gold foil sheets and the other ornaments!  They are such pretty package toppers for that special gift! I hope you'll give them a try!

Thanks bunches for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with some more Christmas tags!  HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY!!!

MORE Christmas Tags

Oh my goodness!  I TOTALLY forgot to blog yesterday!  I can't believe I did that! It's a CRAZY life sometimes and I'm a little bit scattered...too many kettles in the fire!

I told you I'd make this my Christmas tag week...so I have more tags to share!

For the first tag I used Night of Navy cardstock. I stamped the image with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I did it a second time...just on the bottom to make it look dimensional.  The image is from the To You & Yours Too stamp set.  I used the Ornate Tag Topper to make it a tag and ran it through my Big Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder.  I inked the top half of the tag with Whisper White Craft ink to make it look like it was snowing.  Last, I added a piece of 1/4" Real Red Cotton Ribbon and some threads from White Jute.

For the second tag I used Crumb Cake cardstock.  I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set with VersaMark and white embossing powder.  I added a scrap piece of designer paper from the Merry Moments stack and punched a tree using the Tree punch and a piece of Mossy Meadow designer paper from the Designer Series Paper Stack.  Of course I had to top the tree with a star from the Home for Christmas designer buttons and I added a piece of 5/8" Mossy Meadow Striped Cotton Ribbon to the top of the tag! VIOLA...quick easy Christmas tags!

Thanks bunches for stopping by today!  I'm so sorry about not posting yesterday!  I'll be back tomorrow though with some more tags...and HOPEFULLY another special treat (if I can sneak out to my workshop tonight)!

Christmas Tags

Good Morning Everyone!  I hope your weekend was wonderful!  Did you get lots of things accomplished?  How about a little bit of rest?  I went to Modesto to visit my mom for her 84th birthday.  I spent last Thursday cooking so I could take dinner down to celebrate...and then I forgot it!  The first thing I had to do when I arrived was go grocery shopping and remake birthday dinner.  We had a nice visit...in spite of the late dinner!  We dropped my mother-in-law off at my sister-in-laws house to go see the Broncos play the Raiders!  She is a Peyton Manning fan and had a ABSOLUTE blast!  Sunday evening, on our way home from Modesto, we stopped so our son Adam could play one, last, fall ball game at Big League Dreams in Redding...it was a beautiful night, great game and he struck out nine players (last game he struck out eleven).  He was thrilled!

Now...I'm home and I have a workshop tonight...I'm ready for it, but wanted to add one more project, so this morning I decided to make a couple of Christmas tags...and that's what I'm sharing with you today!

I think it's so much FUN to add personal tags to packages.  I don't always get it done, but it is my goal for this year!  I think I will make a different tag for each child...then I will know whose is whose...but they won't be able to figure it out (cause I won't put names on them). For today's tags I used a piece of 2" x  4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and a 2" by 4 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

I stamped the snowflakes with the Holly Jolly Greeting stamped set using VersaMark and White embossing powder.  The sentiment if stamped in Early Espresso and is from the same stamp set.  I punched the Christmas tree out of Home for Christmas designer paper with the Tree punch.  I tied a bow using threads from White Jute at the top to finish it off!

The other tag is simply stamped with the Wonderland stamp set in Mossy Meadow.  I tied a piece of 1/4" Real Red Cotton ribbon through the hole in the top and added a Snowflake Element with some Linen Thread.  I inked the edges of both tags to give it a worn look.  They came together so quickly...and I think they are a FABULOUS touch to any package!

That's all I have for you today!  I hope you'll join me again tomorrow!  I think I might have a week of tags!  Have a GREAT rest of your day and THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by!

Convention 2015

Hello my dear crafty friends! Thank you for joining me today...I'm so sorry I'm so late posting today! It's been a VERY BUSY...and VERY BLESSED day. I'm traveling to Modesto tomorrow to celebrate my mom's 84th birthday, but first we are taking my mom-in-law to Walnut Creek.  She is staying with my sister-in-law and going to see a Raiders-Broncos football game! She absolutely LOVES Peyton Manning!!! This is her first venture out since my father-in-law passed in May so we are doubly excited for her!

Everything that I HAD to get done today is completed....except for packing! I feel so blessed that the day went so smoothly!  Sometimes life gets pretty overwhelming but God cares about the small stuff and gets me through each day!!

I had so much to do today that I didn't get out to my workshop at all...so I decided that this would be a GREAT time to share some of my FAVORITE cards from convention with you.  My up-up-line attended and took photos of the cards and shared them with our team for inspiration!  I hope you enjoy them and are inspired to create!!!

As always...thanks bunches for stopping by today (this evening)  Have a FANTASTIC Friday and WONDERFUL weekend!!

Wonderland Candle

Good morning friends!  Blessings to you all today!  As I post this it is dark and chilly...early in the morning. The children are still sleeping...the husband has gone to work...the house is quite except for the clicking of the keyboard! Life is peaceful and calm...but soon the kiddos will be rising, rubbing their eyes...asking "what's for breakfast"...and I'll be ready...calm and at peace...ready to face the hustle and bustle of the morning!  Then...after I get them to school...I'm headed to the coast to spend the day with a girlfriend...I wish another special friend could be joining us...perhaps another day!

I had a fun evening playing out in my workshop while my husband worked on his bicycle and I want to share a new candle creation that I made with the Wonderland stamp set!

I'm making these to donate to my old churches bazaar and to our local hospital's gift shop!  I think I'll put some in the Crafter's Mall as well.  I hope folks will love them and buy them...they can either support missions, the local hospital...or me (lol)!

I stamped the Wonderland tree image twice with Mossy Meadow ink on white tissue paper.  After cutting closely around the image I laid it on the candle, wrapped wax paper around it (holding it firmly) and melted it to the candle with my heat gun!  I added some Venetian lace, Natural Chevron ribbon and Real Red Pom Pom Trim as accents.  I also tied a Snowflake Element to the pom pom trim with Linen thread. Now all I have to do is package it with a matching tag!  What a great gift!

Thanks bunches for stopping by today...it means so much to me that you take the time to see what I've been up to!  ENJOY your day...I'll be back tomorrow!

Hello LIfe!

Good Morning...it's a beautiful day here in my little mountain town!  I hope all of you...my faithful followers, are having a fantastic day!  It's a difficult time to dress at my house as the mornings are quite cool, but the days are still warm...my kiddos leave in the morning with a sweat shirt and come home with it tucked (more like shoved) away in their backpacks...or tied around their waists!  I LOVE this time of year though and I LOVE making cards for the season! It's a busy life we live...I sure hope you find time to relax and enjoy creating today and I hope today's fall card will inspire you!!

I made this card using the Sweet Li'l Things designer paper and the Leaflets Framelits!  I cut the leaves out in Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey and Tip Top Taupe then ran them through the Softly Falling embossing folder.  Fall themed cards give me the perfect excuse to distress things by inking all edges...in this case I used Soft Suede! I added a piece of Early Espresso 1/4" Cotton Ribbon and a sentiment to say HELLO!  It's from the Hello Life stamp set...but there are lots of others that you can use! I cut it out with the Handpicked framelits.

Here's a shot of the inside of the card...VERY SIMPLE...but it adds just a bit of love!  I fussy cut it to get at least one colored tree on it!

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by! Come on back tomorrow for another treat!

Spooky Hearth and Home

Hello Everyone!  How's your Monday going? Hopin' all is well with you today and that you had a FABULOUS weekend! The only problem is that the weekends go by WAY TO FAST!  My husband was on call this weekend (he's a power lineman) and got called all every day...Friday, Saturday and Sunday...the wind was crazy at times here. That's life in the mountains!

I played out in my workshop this weekend and I want to share a Halloween card that I created with the Hearth and Home Framelit!

I used the Brick Wall embossing folder on  Basic Gray cardstock for the background and attached a piece of Spider Web Doily to the top. I cut the window in Basic Black cardstock using the Hearth and Home framelit. The background of spiders webs is from the Happy Haunting designer paper.  I used the Hearth and Home framelit again to cut the window box in Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  To finish it off I used the Festive Fireside framelits to cut the black cat in Black Glimmer paper and added a pumpkin I made with my 3/4" circle punch and Bird Builder punch.

The inside of the card is made with a layer of Basic Gray, a layer of Whisper White and another piece of Spider Web Doily...simple, but very cute...and SPOOKY...lol!

That's it for today!  I'm working on my workshop projects which are mostly Christmas...but I'll keep posting Fall and Halloween things too!  I hope you have a FANTASTIC rest of your day!

Thanks for stopping by!

I just wanted to keep sleeping this morning...but had to go to work...saw this, LOVED it, had to share it!!!
