Woodland Vellum

Hello Friends! It's Wednesday evening and I'm finally able to blog! My computer...or internet hasn't been working correctly (and I'm not tech savvy) so I haven't been able to get to my blog. Here I am now though...

Today's card is another from my November workshops. It is so very SIMPLE and so very BEAUTIFUL! The first thing you do is run a piece of Vellum through your Big Shot. I used the Woodland embossing folder. SU vellum is nice and thick so it doesn't tear and crack when you dry emboss it.  Next I added a piece of Silver 1/8" ribbon using 1/8" scorpal tape to the front and the back of the vellum.  I also added small dots Multipurpose Liquid Glue in strategic areas to adhere the vellum to my Night of Navy cardstock. After attaching it, I simply hid the glue with Basic Rhinestones that look like twinkling stars!

Then sentiment on the inside is from the Be Jolly By Golly stamp set. I used Night of Navy ink to stamp it on Whisper White cardstock and added a few Basic Rhinestone to tie it all together!

I really LOVE the look of the embossed Vellum and hope to get out to my happy place to play with the vellum some more!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hopefully all goes well tomorrow and I'll share another project from my November classes! Enjoy your evening...stay warm!

Christmas Blessing with Santa's Sleigh

Good Morning everyone! Well...Thanksgiving went off without a hitch...well almost! My son was in an accident where he totaled his brother truck and PRAISE GOD...walked away with only a black eye. This happened the morning of Thanksgiving and let me tell you...we were and are...EXTREMELY THANKFUL!

I want to share a card with you today that we made in my November workshops. It's a lovely and simple Christmas card.

The first thing I did to create this card was to run the Whisper White layer of cardstock through the Softly Falling embossing folder. I used the Santa's Sleigh framelits to cut the tree from Old Olive cardstock, attached it with dimensionals and tied a piece of Linen Thread around it's trunk.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Pines stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink.

For the inside of the card I simply stamped part of the tree image from the Santa's Sleigh stamp set. This would be a great card to send out for Christmas as it comes together quickly and if you have a little helper like do...she can cut out the trees for you while you work on the rest of the card! A fun family project!! NO...this is not my Christmas card this year!

Well...that's it for today! I'm heading down the mountain (having an MRI on a my neck, throat and brain this morning)...praying for good results! You have a FANTASTIC day! Don't forget to come visit tomorrow for more inspiration!

Christmas Fun Scrapbook Page

Hello there folks! Well it's Tuesday evening and I just realized I hadn't blogged yet! Today is my husbands birthday so we've been CELEBRATING!!! Well...we said goodbye to our son, Seth, who was suppose to be home for Thanksgiving but had to leave for Louisiana for a job..the plumber came and we got a new toilet...we worked in the Soup Kitchen...we went to the dump...now that's what I call CELEBRATING! The kids and I are making a special dinner for him now and the yellow cake with chocolate frosting is already to eat...all in all...it's been a good day!

I have a Christmas scrapbook page to share with you today...made with scraps of designer paper and the Starlight thinlits.  The background paper is from the Candy Cane Lane designer paper pack. I REALLY like this paper! Very simple, but very cute! I love scrapbooking Christmas and I can't get enough Christmas paper...WE ALL HAVE OUR VICES!

That's it for today! I hope life is going smoothly for you all as you get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving! Remember...one thing at a time! Try not to get overwhelmed! BREATHE!!!

Santa's Sleigh

Hello friends! Hope your weekend was wonderful! It sure went by fast! I didn't get out to my workshop at all! It is SUCH A MESS! I do have a card to share with you today though!  It's the card I made to take to OnStage to swap!

Here goes...hope you are inspired!

I used the Santa's Sleigh framelits to cut the trees and reindeer for this card. The trees are cut from Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz which I sponged with Whisper White Craft Ink. The reindeer is cut from the very cool Copper Foil sheets of paper. I cut the snow by hand using the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. The background is Crumb Cake and I ran it through the Woodgrain embossing folder then inked it with Whisper White Craft Ink. The sentiment is from the Christmas Pines stamp set. I stamped the sentiment is Real Red, inked the edges of the banner with Whisper White Craft Ink and added some Basic Pearls. I cut a Red Glimmer Bow using the Pretty Pines Thinlit dies and tied a Mini Jingle Bell around the neck of the reindeer with Linen Thread.

I mounted the Crumb Cake cardstock onto a piece of Real Red cardstock and then onto a Soft Suede card base. LOVE these colors together!

For the inside of the card I simply stamped the sentiment (which is from the Wonder of Christmas stamp set) onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I mounted it onto a piece of Real Red cardstock and then onto the inside of my card. I made fifty of these cards and had fun swapping them for other cards. Now I need to make my Christmas cards...I know for sure it won't be this one...it was a bit time consuming to make fifty!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope that your week is starting off great and that you have a terrific day! See ya tomorrow!

Birthday Fiesta...Christmas Card

Good morning everyone! I've missed you! I must apologize...I was going to blog while I was at convention and while I was packing up my moms house, but I forgot my laptop. I was gonna use my brothers computer, but I forgot the cord to my camera! Can you say SCATTER BRAINED?!?!

So convention was a ton of fun and so was visiting my son and daughter! It was a FANTASTIC trip! Today, I want to share my FAVORITE swap card from convention! It was made by my teammate Jenny. She lives in Arizona, convention was in Arizona (she was there) and here is the PERFECT Arizona card! I just LOVE it!

The stamps Jenny used are Merriest Wishes (sentiment) and Birthday Fiesta (cactus). She cut the cactus out using the Fiesta Time framelits. The colors she chose are Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green an Whisper White. She tied a piece of Cherry Cobbler Metallic Thread around the card, securing it with a Basic Pearl! It is so dang CUTE! I just think it was so clever! If I lived in the dessert this would MOST DEFINITELY be my Christmas card!

Well that's it for today! I have a workshop in Redding tomorrow but I'm gonna try to post before I leave! I have my swap card to share and I'll share the rest in groups.

Have a FANTASTIC day!

Strips Scrapbook Page

Hello everyone! Hoping you day is shamping up nicely! I'm gonna post quickly today...I have a meeting at 9am and haircut at 11:30am...and I still have all my swaps to make! I have everything cut out for 52 cards...now to put them together!

I've always wanted to make a strips scrapbook page so I have been saving my scrap strips for a long time. Of course I didn't have them with me when I went to my retreat but I did have some new designer paper that I cut into strips on purpose...it was really hard for me to do!!! I used the Moroccan and Festive Birthday designer papers for these strips! I still need to journal and put the date! Thanks for the reminder Linda...you're a DEAR friend! So save your strips...you may think they aren't worth much, but they make a pretty cute scrapbook page!

Thanks bunches for stopping by today! Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Preserving Memories!

Good Morning friends! Hope your Halloween was rewarding...did you have candy tax? We did not have one trick-or-treater so we have candy left over! My son decided to put his in the community bowl so we didn't have to tax him...giggle and my daughter had fun helping grandma! My husband was called out to get the power back on...it was an odd night!

This week my plan it to share scrapbook pages with you then next week I'll be sharing swaps from OnStage...the SU event I'm going to on Saturday in Phoenix (and I get to hang out with my son who lives there and my oldest daughter is flying out to hang with us too!) Then my plan is to concentrate on CHRISTMAS...cards, treats, decorations and more! I hope you'll follow along!

Here is a simple Easter page (I'm not sure I like my title..it's too small...gonna have to fix it with alphabet stamps, versamark and white embossing powder!) The background is Old Olive cardstock and the designer papers are from the Brights paper stack. I love the White Perfect Accents at the top and bottom of the circle. If this was a girls page I could add some cutesy embellishments...but I'm keeping it simple for the boy! I'm really loving getting back to scrapbooking...so many memories to cherish and preserve! I hope you'll find time to do a page or two throughout your busy week!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a WONDERFUL day! I'll be back tomorrow!
